Baby Blanket

I hope that you all had a lovely Easter break, whatever you did. We had a nice time, quiet but still nice.

We've just come back from a weekend visiting friends in Kent, which was lovely. We hadn't seen these friends for 12-18 months so it was good to catch up.  While we were there we popped in to see Hubby's friend & his 3 week old baby. This is the baby I've been making the blanket for. They had a little girl so the blanket was finished off in pink.  I'm pleased to say that they really liked it!  I took a few photos of the finished item before I wrapped it - they're not great quality but hopefully you'll be able to see how it looks!

I've already started on the next baby blanket, which is for my brother & his girlfriend, who are expecting a boy at the end of June/beginning of July.  I will take some photos of my progress soon.

It's back to normal this week with Freya back at nursery tomorrow, so back to the early mornings & trying to be organised!!

Have a good week.

Impromptu Family Outing

We decided on the spur of the moment last Sunday to go out for a picnic.  Someone in our local fish & chip shop recommended that we go to Clumber Park so we thought "why not?!"

The weather was absolutely glorious so we packed a picnic, the girls & the dog & took ourselves off out for the afternoon.  I have to say, it was lovely.

The park itself is in Sherwood Forest so is surrounded by trees, wildlife, greenery & all things nature! There is a walled kitchen garden (which I couldn't look around this time because we had the dog with us), a stunning lake-side walk, a chapel to view & a little courtyard area with a couple of shops/cafes and a plant sale.  If you're ever in the area & the weather is nice then I would highly recommend a visit.  In fact, they do have a campsite there so we're thinking about taking ourselves back with our tent in the warmer months.

I took a few photos with my phone but they really don't do the place justice!

I hope you have a lovely long Easter weekend & eats lots & lots of chocolate!
